OFFENSIVE SKILL DEVELOPMENT
SHOOTING
Shooters will work to develop the fundamental skills needed to become more efficient and effective shooters. Shooting technique, placement and velocity will be developed as will footwork, which is the fundamental base of all shooting skills.
DODGING
Attack and Midfield spicific dodging techniques are devolped to give the athlete a set of tools that will help them in their 1v1 play.

SAVE TECHNIQUE - POSITIONING
Goalies will be exposed to the same technical skills set that is used by Division I goalies in today’s game. Save technique, positioning and ready position a just a few of the topics covered by Chris Burdick, former starting goalie and captain of the University of Delaware as well as goalie coach at Cornell, Notre Dame, Umass, Delaware and now head Coach at Providence College.
DEFENSE SKILL DEVELOPMENT

DEFENSE FOOTWORK AND ANGLE PLAY
Defenders will learn the fundamental defensive principles that are needed to advance to the next level. Friar defensive coordinator Keith Loftis will introduce 1 vs. 1 angle play and defensive footwork. Checks will be introduced along with the understanding of being efficient in how checks are delivered. Skill work, including over passing technique, will have a minor emphasis as well.
FACE OFF SKILL DEVELOPMENT

FACE OFF FUNDAMENTALS
Former Providence Face-Off specialist and 1998 NCAA Division I ground ball leader Jim Mascia will introduce the fundamentals of the face-off position. The theme of efficiency will be addressed as players are introduced to multiple face-off technical skills including stance, footwork and hand quickness. Players will be introduced to multiple face-off techniques as well as their counter moves.
